Make Fun Subs With The Most Delicious Subway Sauces In India

There is nothing quite like a subway sandwich to satisfy those giant hunger pangs. Perfect for a late breakfast, an indulgent lunch, a mid-meal snack and even for dinner, subway sandwiches come in all types for foodies. Whatever your choice of filling, ask any true foodie and they will tell you that it is the sauce that makes all the difference. With the wide variety of sauces that are made available by food companies, you can make the most delightful subs. Here are some of our favourites that we are sure you will love too:

1.       Chicken meatballs: Use made-from-scratch or store bought chicken meatballs to prepare this heart sub that is made juicy and delightful with the addition of marinara sauce. Cook the meatballs in the marinara sauce and arrange on a baguette or footlong and top with some grated cheese. Bake open faced till the cheese melts, and serve.

2.       Thai chicken: For an oriental inspired subway sandwich, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha chilli garlic sauce, shredded chicken, lettuce, red onion slices and coriander leaves. Spoon the filling between the sliced footlong bread with some cucumber and bell pepper slices to serve.

3.       Egg salad: Another popular sub recipe, this calls for chopped hard boiled eggs, shredded carrots, chopped coriander, mayonnaise (or any other popular subway sauces in India you like) and garam masala mixed together. Layer the mixture on a sliced footlong with some tomatoes and microgreens to serve.

4.       Minced soya: For a vegetarian protein-overload sub, try the one with minced soya. Cook boiled soya mince with garlic, onions and tomato ketchup with some seasoning. Slice a footlong lengthwise in half and layer lettuce, followed by the mince. Add cheese if you want and serve.

5.       Mushroom cheese: Saute mushrooms lightly with garlic, seasoning and olive oil, and then toss with some barbeque sauce. In a sliced footlong, layer tomatoes, lettuce and onions. Then spoon in the mushroom. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and grill on a pan. Serve warm with mayonnaise.

6.       Grilled vegetables: On a split footlong bread or a baguette, spread the chilli cheese sandwich sauce from Veeba. Layer assorted grilled vegetables like carrots, zucchini, tomatoes, sliced olives and lettuce. Drizzle with some bhut jolokia extra hot sauce and serve.
